About the Opportunity
Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker to join our Early Childhood Support Team. This is a unique and rewarding role where you will work closely with partnering Allied Health Team to support children up to the age of 7 who have developmental delays.
Based onsite, but with a strong community outreach focus, you will help bridge the connection between families and health services. Your role will include assisting in therapy sessions, supporting parents, promoting early childhood development, and engaging with community groups such as Kindilink and Mums & Bubs.

About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:✔ Cultural understanding and sensitivity, with experience working with Aboriginal communities.
✔ Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to support families and connect them with health services.
✔ Excellent communication skills, enabling you to provide information to parents, children, and community groups in an engaging and supportive manner.
✔ Adaptability and resilience, handling challenges with a positive and proactive mindset.
✔ Teamwork and collaboration, working closely with the Allied Health Team, Child Health Nurse, and clinic staff.
Desirable qualifications include Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or Certificate III in Community Services, but we encourage applications from those with relevant experience and a passion for early childhood support.
