OBJECTIVES
To achieve this vision, we will:
ADVOCATE the health and well-being needs of Aboriginal people.
PROMOTE safe and strong Aboriginal communities by empowering individuals, families, and communities to make positive changes for their health and well-being.
PROVIDE comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people and their families in a culturally sensitive way.
MISSION STATEMENT
OVAHS incorporates cultural understanding in providing accessible healthcare to improve equitable health and well-being outcomes. We work adaptively and with transparency to determine, prioritize, and meet the health and well-being needs of Aboriginal people in our region. Health services are provided and prioritized on a basis of need and take into account physical, mental, and social health and the health of our community.
OVAHS acknowledges the traditional owners of the country on which we work and live and recognize their continuing connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respect to them and their cultures and to elders both past and present.

We provide outreach, prevention, and support to improve the health and well-being of Aboriginal people in our region. We understand and listen to their needs, and provide services on the basis of need, with respect, sensitivity and care.
