A Better Life (ABLe) program has been running since June 2016
at Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) in Kununurra.
Our Social Worker provides practical support for clients accessing services such as housing, Centrelink, Child Protection and Family Support, Legal Aid etc.
Our Aboriginal Liaison Officer provides transport to appointments and supports clients through the process of interacting with these services, giving them the confidence to manage them in the future.
Our Social Worker also assists clients to access drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
There are three ways to be referred to the ABLe Program:
A client can self-refer
A client can arrange a referral through one of the GP’s at OVAHS
A client can be referred by an external service provider
